Tagetes spp have different size flowers and are usaully offered in garlands to Indian Gods. Tagetes spp are also grown by farmers acround their farms for vegetables. It was observed that if they grew this plant on all the sides of their farms the plants were healthy. Later people have isolated pesticides from these plants. They are also effective against nemtode infections on tomato. Simple local techniques have sound scientifc backgrounds . Traditional wisdom needs to be analysed on scientific facts.
