Man s greed is ever increasing and for meeting his luxury designs over exploitation of nature in some part of the globe while over population is casuing hevoc in other part of the globe. Chief Minister of Rajasthan Mr Ashok Gehlot has warned that future generations will not forgive us if we dont stop misusing resources like water in Rajasthan where water table is going down at the rate of 1 m per annum and there is hardly 25 meter of water or aquafier layers that too producing saline water at places or at most of the places. NOTE: This is just an introduction, for the body of this paper (theories on terraforming Venus and Mars), click here.
Eventually, the Earth will no longer be fit for human existence. In approximately 5 to 6 billion years the sun will exhaust its hydrogen supply. In the next 10 million years a comet will likely strike Earth, or the planet will be doused in supernova radiation. Within the next 100 thousand to 1 million years an asteroid similar to the one that created the Chicxulub crater and caused a mass extinction event will likely collide with Earth.
Before these extraterrestrial events…

It was a hot sultry afternoon when, I was assigned a work to deliver a presentation on groundbreaking science in chromatographic field.
Being in the field for five years, I have yet to come across any such befitting work to be termed, “groundbreaking,” in separation science.
I had foreseen my schedule to be busy for some weeks as I will scroll and scan every single paper written by researchers trying to prove their work as ,”novel”,” out-of-this-world,” and finally “path-breaking.” Days and nights were spent to come up with any article that proved to…

Arctic Ice June 2010
This article describes the current state of the Arctic sea ice and makes some predictions for the month ahead. The predictions are based on my visual analysis of hundreds of satellite images.
I begin with some background and explanatory materials and then show how satellite images can be analyzed to show the mechanisms of ice consolidation and fracture. In the concluding part I show some images of the Arctic ice at the time of writing and point out what I think will happen to that ice during this month.
It is one thing to feed a stream of data…

Joanne Chu, community moderator at Ranker.com, did such a terrific list of cutest animals impacted by the BP oil spill that rather than put up a link, which might only get a relatively small number of readers, I asked if we could print it here and get it out to perhaps a lot. That is, if this Internet thing is working properly.
So once you read it give their site a look. Everyone loves lists. Come back after you try one or two of the 13 most bizarre beauty treatments and let me know if they work. A man of advancing years like me is willing to throw…

The 20th Century was one of the driest for Northwest Africa in Nine Centuries, according to a new study from Arizona State University. Droughts in the late 20th century rivaled some of North Africa's major droughts of centuries past.
The first multi-century drought reconstruction that includes Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia shows frequent and severe droughts during the 13th and 16th centuries and the latter part of the 20th century. The study will be published in Climate Dynamics.
Researchers reconstructed northwest Africa's climate history by using the information recorded in tree rings. The…

What I wrote some days ago is coming true People are dying due to heat Human body cant tolerate temperatures beyond 50 degree. With Rajasthan touching almost that temperature, several distrticts having temperatures above 47 to 49 degree even higher which is more than anywhere in the world including deserts. This is happening because Rajasthan is man made desert. Once upon a time or you can call in my childhood there was no need of fan or cooler even in Jaipur and during night you were required to have blanket if sleeping outside. Jaipur in times of Maharajas , where tigers used to roar in an…
