Hot on the heels of the incident I wrote about in Even Seattle Yogis Can't Live On Sunshine And Water, GreenMedInfo mystical guru Sayer Ji is promoting this light business again, but calling it biophotonics rather than calling himself an inediate or using the term breatharianism.
Why must biophotonics be real?
Because we exist.
Mind. Blown.
In reality, the probability that we exist is obviously 100% but he doesn't understand basic statistics (he does understand his market - the money he rakes in, and the traffic that site gets, dwarfs us and every other science site), because he starts from 0 and then compounds each statistical possibility to create something suitability cosmic for his readers. He also endorses homeopathy, acupuncture, holistic cooking, anti-vaccination beliefs, that milk is addictive like morphine and, of course, that organic food is in every way better than traditional food.
If you can accept that your going from cyanobacteria 2.4 billion years ago to being in this exact moment reading this exact article was really, really hard to predict then according to "the sheer insanity of our existential condition...it may not sound so farfetched that our body emits light."
Of course, everything emits radiation. Though once also suitably improbable, even black holes emit radiation. These ultraweak photon emissions can show our oxidative state so we can see that cancerous cells oxidate differently than normal cells. Ji cites actual articles in his run-up to his clincher leap of voodoo, the classic head-fake for woo-meisters seeking legitimacy, though he misstates them a little because what he wants to arrive at is that...
"Intention Is a Living Force of Physiology"
Bókkon's hypothesis is the work of an obscure Hungarian PhD who has mashed together bioluminescent biophotons, near death experiences and electroencephalographic power into his own idea of molecular hypothesis, that of induction of sensed presence in people. Telekinesis, psychics and all that stuff. It's Kirlian photography for the 21st century.
