Recently, another blogger reviewed Vaccine Epidemic. The blogger's emphasis was on this quote taken from Allen Tate's chapter, "The Greater Good": "It is indisputable that the vaccination schedule has never been tested for safety in its entirety, or in the way that it is administered. In other words, while the government reviews, licenses, and compels individual vaccines, it does not test--or require vaccine makers to test--the safety and efficacy of vaccines given simultaneously or the cumulative effects of multiple vaccines" (83). I left a comment at the blog (which was NOT posted…

Try going into a hospital room to see a newborn baby without using that annoying hand sanitizer stuff - the Frankenstein monster had an easier time with angry villagers than you will have with concerned hospital staff and family members.  The hospital staff I can understand - they know people are looking for a reason to sue.   Family members are more of a puzzle. Weren't they kids once?   You have to eat a little dirt to be healthy, people. The Hygiene Hypothesis is not new, but I will recap; basically, your body builds its immune system by tackling small problems, the same way…

As a child I would ask my father if we take all the minerals, vitamins, amino acids, hormones through injections tablets or in syrup what is the need to take food ? My father a botanist of 1940s scolded me for such funny ideas. Minerals need to be taken in the form nearest to their form in nature : from plants or animals for being absorbed and accepted in our body . What Ayurveda or science of life is all about is getting minerals, vitamins, micronutrients from plants for strengthening the human body. A healthy body is not a body free from disease but a body sound physically, emotionally…

Sugar-sweetened beverages (fruit drinks, soda) are associated with higher blood pressure levels in adults, according to a report in Hypertension: Journal of the American Heart Association. In the International Study of Macro/Micronutrients and Blood Pressure (INTERMAP), for every extra sugar-sweetened beverage drunk per day participants on average had significantly higher systolic blood pressure by 1.6 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) and diastolic blood pressure higher by 0.8 mm Hg. This remained statistically significant even after adjusting for differences in body mass, researchers said. The…

SKIPTON, England, March 1, 2011 - Grotty old beds could be behind a growing epidemic of 'toxic sleep'.   A new Sleep Council survey just in time for National Bed Month shows nearly half of us are getting just six hours sleep or less a night. News story on a traveler with measles moving around the US: "More than 10 million people are infected with measles worldwide each year, and the disease is the leading cause of vaccine-preventable deaths in small children. Self-loathing Americans, and Europeans happy to oblige them, have long noted how fat Americans are, and a common urban myth has been that America is the fattest nation.   But that is not true, others noted, America is simply the fattest of the rich, industrial nations (and even there, it is just an average and America does not lead by much). But even that is not true, according to a world report on obesity published last week in The Lancet.   The actual fattest nations are instead places in the South Pacific, like Samoa and Hawaii (edit: oops, Hawaii is not a nation, as noted in the…

Coffee can be quite good for you, as any number of studies have shown.   But you still have to take some personal responsibility for moderation because companies like Starbuck's are not going to do it for you.    They're not in the personal responsibility business, they are in the drink business, so when they roll out a new size - the "Trenta" - this spring, all 31 ounces of it, they want you to buy it in any form you want. The problem; if you get a "Trenta" lemonade, it will have 21 teaspoons of sugar.  Yes, 21.   That's not only more sugar than you should have in a…

Cognitive enhancement is not about future generations playing video games via neural implants and thought interfaces. Presently, it is about a large fraction of the worlds scientist shortening their lives (speak about lifespan enhancement) via caffeine, nicotine, and sugar intake that leads to diabetes and cardio vascular illnesses via hypertension with high blood pressure and heart troubles, teeth grinding, frequent urination, and so on. Coffee is a must at all conferences. No brew, no chance of surviving afternoon talks in a fully conscious state. The irony should be obvious: In a world…
