A Space Station Christmas - Send Them A Greeting!

No one will be farther from home than the astronauts aboard the International Space Station, circling Earth at 17,500 mph and orbiting 16 times each day. NASA is giving the public an opportunity to send personalized holiday greetings to the orbiting crew. NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson and Flight Engineer Yuri Malenchenko, a Russian cosmonaut, have been on the station since Oct. 12. Flight Engineer Dan Tani, a U.S. astronaut, joined them Oct. 25.

NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson and Flight Engineer Yuri Malenchenko, a Russian cosmonaut, have been on the station since Oct. 12. Flight Engineer Dan Tani, a U.S. astronaut, joined them Oct. 25. Together, they make up the 16th resident crew of the orbiting outpost.

To send a personalized message to the crew, visit http://www.nasa.gov/home/index.html and go to Interactive Features on the left sidebar, then click on "Send Holiday Greetings to the Crew" - it's javascript so we can't send you right to it but a little manual effort won't kill you. The astronauts are worth it.
