A group of plants including from smallest to largest occupy a water body. If you introduce strange plant among the group of plants the plants will revolt silently and slowly die or wither. Like introduction of Australian babool or Prosopis juliflora resulted in wiping out of other plants due to its vigorous growth and multiplication. It almost obliterates other plants growth. Plants don’t like to keep such plants in their company. On the other hand other leguminous plants like pulses and other species of Prosopis like Prosopis cinneraria is welcome plant in all the farmers’ field in the arid zone of Rajasthan even at high temperatures upto 50 degree. Besides it fixes nitrogen in the soil. Another welcome plant which is not legume plant and has another .form of microorganism to fix nitrogen i.e. Frankia in its roots is Casurina . Its leaves are totally reduced in the form of needles to conserve water and it can thrive in desert conditions.
Leptadenia pyrotechnica grows in desert area. Lantana camara was introduced in this part of globe and now its a wild plant growing in hilly tracts. People now think to use it a biofuel plant.
Fog or Calligonum polygonoides has its deep roots which have high calorific value. In the extreme desert conditions it can grow very well. People have been removing this plant for its roots and soon it will come in capacity of endangered plants.
Plant introduction into fresh environments should be done very carefully otherwise they will capture the entire habitat by their fast breeding habit and habitat will become unsuitable for survival of native plants.
