Hi, my name is Tree (strange name but it grows on yah, please don't cut me down.)
This is my blog on scientificblogging.com where the title for the index page is:
Scientific Blogging | The world's best scientists. The internet's smartest readers. Science 2.0
Doing my part to be the part of the last part.
yet also wishing, as not a teacher but as among fellow student, to contribute if I can, and I do try. So I seek rather than to state facts, ask good questions, even if I am trying to state a fact....
Cause for giving personal background, is to aid in understanding the path taken, and those points of view. And in the case of referring to a life spent with wolves since age 12, no I dont jump out of an SUV and go chase deer on all 4's
Yet would be so inclined, as want to jump out of an SUV. (I prefer sled team or horse or bicycle and went 17 years in one stretch, without driving a car, but a wolf sled dog team on my mountain.)
But also an apology for not being well versed in human interrelations, as those who may have spent most of their lives around humans instead.
I seek to communicate with my own kind, does not mean I'm going to be very good at it.
What others may take for granted, can be for me, a total mystery.
Like how it takes me many many words to say something, to be followed by someone saying the same thing in 2 lines, far more beautifully.
I seek to offend no one here, if I do, please consider that if you knew the source it was coming from, you could safely assume I do so or did so unintentionally, and if you doubt that, please ask before assuming my guilt. Yet still must the right to reserve my freedom to be me, even if different than the vast majority of my peers.
I do not know the whole truth as well as I would like to.
If someone told me they just talked with someone else of another planet,
I was not there, so I can neither believe what is told me, nor disbelieve it.
And I accept that, that I do NOT need to believe, NOR disbelieve.
In order to learn.
My view on creation verses evolution.
I'm a peace activist. I believe both, to be seeking truth, and then telling the truth, even if we may not yet understand it, if truth, then science will uncover it, eventually, even without trying to, because the objective is simply seeking to learn the truth.
But this does not require I either believe nor disbelieve. Only that I listen so that I can learn, and try to ask questions, or aid in understanding from another point of view.
Because these peoples have used the name Hopi, I would like to enter this as an example of the math (Creation +plus+ (not vs.) Evolution) of doing so being put into practice (it need not be correct, to understand the math of a possiblity).
The Hopi, the name in their language, is The People Of Peace. (note that in most of the original names given by tribes, translates to "The People"), this is why I choose them, of all religions, because I would rather walk the path of peace, than give my life to any god that says killing is an acceptable solution, when a more thoughtful one can be found.
Teach the enemy. Don't get even, get odd.
Science could uncover the mystery of putting an end to war.
I'm a peace activist, if I haven't mentioned that.
In testing DNA through the national geographic society(put link here tree!) I saw on T.V. a man who used DNA to track the path of humans over the earth.
Objective of letting the proof, uncover the truth.
He spoke (if my memory is correct) with Hopi elders, and explained to them where the science shows they came from across Alaska, where this message is coming from.
To the Hopi (please forgive me if I am not accurate but only trying), the stories say that they are the first people on this earth. That they came from below the surface, to the light.
I fail to see, where these two (ancient many thousand year old oral stories, and the DNA) are not accurate.
In winter, north of where I live, there is no sun, only darkness.
If I head south, towards where the sun is highest when spring comes,
followed the light, to a land no one had been to before, for the first time, they are the first people on that earth. Explaining, in summer, the sun always above the horizon for months, standing, at the center of the earth, the land from which they had come from, land of the midnight sun, is also the land where noon sun there is none, a land of total darkness.
And I dont know why it was the Hopi he presented his information to, but I'm open minded it is possible they are in a very direct line, from where the DNA says they came from.
How would you explain that, in a story handed down how many thousands and thousands of years, by mouth, to each generation, that journey.
The raven, the eagle, I see in Hopi, these birds also live up here.
Maybe I stretch my imagination, if instead of saying one says the other is wrong, but seek instead where one says the other is correct.
I would hate to see old stories lost, not handed down, by what science alone, speaks.
I feel the total, is greater than the two separated, and can together, tell the same story.
Both science and religion, seeking truth, so I seek through them both, to expand on my knowledge of what is truth. But even if I do not understand, nor 'believe' nor 'disbelieve' I am willing to listen to both, all, sides.
More often than not, it seems to me they both seem to be in an agreement, letting me see a total I would not have seen, looking at them as separate, yet if I alter MY perspective, see them as one in the same. And a total story, that if true, would be really cool.
If I did not create myself, which I fail to see how I could, because I would have to first exist in order to do that.
Something else had to do that, I could not have, making my origin greater, than this one part. (just my opinion, feel free to neither believe nor disbelieve)
I don't have to believe in a creator, if I seek to know truth.
If the creator is truth, the evidence will then make that truth self evident.
I dont think my creator would mind if I also try to do this for myself.
When I hear so many different stories, to just listen to them all, and not believe nor disbelieving in any side of a story, but let the truth show me the truth, for itself.
If it exists, I'll find it without needing to try very hard, if I keep an open mind.
I accept, that "to the best of our knowledge" we lived in a spiral galaxy.
Not long ago, learned it is a barred one instead.
If I look at the spiral galaxy concept, based on the best of our knowledge, not believing, nor disbelieving it, I'm okay with that. I dont have to believe, to be willing to listen, and improve my understanding of the universe, we call home.
For all I know, Adam and Eve were the first humans to arrive on that part of the earth.
The first ones, that knew they were like no other animal there, had seen before.
At what point does a species seek to identify its own evolution?
Which was the changing generation in he course of human evolution.
That first became aware, that it was,
the first of a new race, a new species, on earth.
If most all different religious stories tell me they are handed down,
from the first humans on earth (not chimps anymore?).
I see more truth here with science + religion, and let the truth expose itself me with an open mind.
With an open mind both can be correct, if I change my understanding, there is truth to the ancient stories.. meaning it could be true, even if I don't see it, does not mean it does not exist. Even if my ability to be open minded does not exist.
