Yes of course it is damn scary when once again, at a time as supposedly new Hitlers are arising, it is the media again who come into focus as a social problem. Or is it that the Hitlers arise as a necessary countermeasure when the media have jumped the shark and trust is gone? They claim we should not forget history, yet history also tells us that Hitler’s moves where largely forced. What we witness now, even including the role of Jewish elites, is so similar, one may be forgiven for thinking that the most intelligent White Jews conspire to have yet another purge for further Darwinian…

I have written this for young children and others scared the world is about to blow up. If you read the news announcements today, you can understand why they seem to say this. Take them literally and that is exactly what they say.  Summary: They have just set the "clock" to two and a half minutes, it does not mean that the world is about to blow up into dust in two and a half minutes. It’s like when a friend says “I could eat a horse”. They couldn’t eat a horse. They also don’t want to eat a horse. But they aren’t lying when they say that. They are just using vivid imagery. Camargue…

America is a car culture. The saying goes, in Europe 100 miles is a long distance whereas in America 100 years is a long time. With a heritage of continental exploration and frontier expansion, it is no surprise that Americans embraced the automobile in a way no one else did. It inhabits our movies, our music. Everyone except millennials has a road trip soundtrack. Life is a highway, Route 66, and more. But a change is coming. For the health of everyone, automated cars are on the way. Future generations may see steering wheels as a quaint inconvenience that interferes with their work or…

Jeffery Beall was keeper of a controversial list of predatory publishers that has been shut down. A big problem with this list is it was academically classist and biased towards journals in non-English speaking countries.  Rather than trash the idea of a list of predatory journals, I propose the idea of a non-comprehensive white list of journals combined with a list of questions one can ask for "is this journal predatory?". Jeffery Beall was a university librarian who fed up with garbage OA journals decided to create a list of such journals on a blog.  This in and of it self…

Ah the beauty, from victory to victory for over a year now – is it not wonderful to be alive today? For those few of us who have for years predicted the current affairs, 2016 was so refreshing also because it ensured that 2017 goes on giving. The Donald pulled all the ‘right’ moves to win against the lefties, who still do not understand a thing, but more important, he pulled equally ‘right’ moves against the cucked right, and against the this-is-my-career-niche right, which made it clear to some for four months in advance that Trump would win. I judged so the moment the only other White male…

Our nation once again celebrates its unique capacity to transfer leadership with grace and dignity.  The joyousness of the occasion, however, quickly fades into solemnity as citizens and institutions alike assume their vigil, standing guard to keep watchful eyes on those in positions of power.  One community that stands guard is forensic science, protecting citizens from unjustified criminal punishment by speaking for evidence that can't speak for itself.  It empowers our police and courts with the ability to construct scientific foundations upon which decisions of guilt or…

You will read in many places of Gene Cernan as the last man on the moon. He certainly was that. To me and to all of us in the Village of Bellwood Illinois he was a home town hero. Bellwood is a bedroom community, mostly homes and small manufacturing located 7 miles due west of Chicago. This suburb was much smaller when Cernan would have lived here. Never the less we were all proud of our astronaut.  He was joined in that distinction by Lee J Archambault who flew on several space shuttle missions to help construct the ISS. Together they gave this tiny town with hard water a bonified…

As some of you may know, I've become deeply concerned, and indeed appalled by the large numbers of fake doomsday news stories, because I am so often contacted by people who get very scared and sometimes suicidal as a result of reading these stories. Fourteen tabloids and other papers have published this story so far, and none of them mention that it originates from a site known to publish fake news. The story is that the world is going to end because of two snowy days in Salento in Southern Italy, which they say is a prophetic sign of an imminent massive supervolcano eruption. I think it is a…

Psst!  Wanna Buy Some Truth? In case anyone has missed my many articles on the topic of global warming-induced climate change: I am totally convinced that humans have been causing global warming to an ever-increasing extent since we discovered the use of fire1.  I am also totally convinced that global warming has caused the global climate to change from the average conditions prevailing over thousands of years.  A change from the average is bad because it is making seasonal weather conditions less predictable for farming, fishing and food production generally. Together with…

Not long ago, I read an article Apocalypse now? Nuclear proliferation is the least of our worries, to which the sub-editor helpfully added the heading soon, a massive solar flare will bring the world to a halt claims the author of a new book. On top of this, a short while ago I clicked on this article How North Korea Could Fulfill Its Promise To Erase The United States It wouldn’t require a nuclear weapon. And it may be more imminent and real a threat than most Americans are willing to realize.  . . . . . . . . . EMP stands for “electromagnetic pulse,” and it is truly devastating to…
