Edzard Ernst, MD, PhD, FMedSci, FSB, FRCP, FRCPEd, has published 49 books and more than 1,000 articles in the peer-reviewed medical literature. His work has been awarded with 15 scientific awards, most recently (2015) with the ‘John Maddox Prize’ for standing up for science.

His research focused on the critical evaluation of (almost) all aspects of alternative medicine in order to provide objective evidence, reliable information and critical assessment, which does not endear him to many quasi-religious believers in alternative medicine, nor to Prince Charles.
