New Delhi, Dec 10 (IANS) As India and China face a tough task of tilting the climate change negotiations in favour of developing economies, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao Thursday telephoned Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to exchange views on the Copenhagen summit.

'Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Wen Jiabao today called the prime minister on telephone,' an official communique from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said here.

'The Prime Minister and Premier Wen Jiabao exchanged views on the forthcoming Copenhagen Climate Change Conference,' it said.

'The two leaders agreed that the two sides would keep in touch with each other in the run-up to this important conference. They also discussed issues of bilateral interest,' it added.

The UN climate summit opened in the Danish capital Copenhagen Monday to hammer out a possible global solution on global warming.

India, China, Brazil and South Africa have formed a draft resolutions to take on the developed nations, while negotiating cuts in green house gas emission intensity at the ongoing climate summit.

Both India and China on Wednesday led the developing countries at Copenhagen in rejecting a leaked Danish proposal seeking to tilt global climate change negotiations in favour of the rich countries.

Both of them indicated to the United Nations Climate Conference that no deal is better than a bad deal.
