Distribution :- It is found throughout India.
Morphology :- A small shrub or a middle sized tree with straight stipular spines. Leaves unipinnate ; leaflets elliptic to obovate-elliptic and glabrous. Flowers in small heads and arranged in racemose. Calyx 1-1.5 mm long and puberulous. Corolla 3-4.5 mm long and puberulous. Pods velvety pubescent and spirally twisted contain 6-8 black seeds which are enveloped in white pulpy edible aril (Bhandari, 1978).

Uses :- Bark is used as a febrifuge and decoction is given as an enema.
