It's been a while since my last "guess the plot" posting. The simple explanation is that I did not happen to run into any fancy graph in the last month or so. Now, today I have one for you to guess, but I must add that I believe it is rather easy to understand what it represents. Less obvious is to completely understand the math behind it, and the implications of the construction.
But let me not shed too many details, which might spoil the game before it's due time. In another posting I will explain in length what this is, but for the time being let me just ask you the question: does this ring a bell ? Do you understand what the ellipses represent ? Please give your answer in the comments thread. The most imaginative answer, regardless how wrong, wins a honorable mention... Also, I must ask those of you who are sure they know what this is to please refrain from shooting their answer too quickly...
