I'm a microbiologist working for Oak Ridge National Laboratory (Department of Energy) in Tennessee. I have worked at ORNL for 6+ yrs, ever since finishing grad school at the University of Colorado.

Most of my scientific work centers around three primary goals. 1) Understanding the role of microbial systems in terrestrial soils and how these organisms are relevant to carbon cycling and ecosystem responses to global change factors. 2) The role of microbial communities in contaminant remediation in soils and subsurface environments. 3) Developing effective techniques based in molecular biology and genomics for accomplishing the first two goals.
