I'm a Canadian lawyer who has spent a lot of time outside Canada. I have seen a lot of human suffering, and the pathetic attempts of folks everywhere to cling to dated saviour-based religions because they have nothing else to cling to. Surely this far after Spinoza, we can do better for ousrlves and for these people. We can collaborate on a new way of revering things without the authoritarian guilt-based power trips of shady institutional hope merchants claiming tax benefits and unique access to spiritual truth.
