Matteo Cantiello obtained his PhD in Astrophysics at the University of Utrecht, in the Netherlands, with a dissertation on the Unstable interiors of stars, and is now the Chief Scientific Officer at Authorea. He is also an Associate Specialist in Astrophysics at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics, located at the University of California Santa Barbara. Prior to moving to the United States, Matteo worked as an Argelander Fellow in Astrophysics at the University of Bonn, in Germany. Matteo has published more than 50 astrophysics articles in top scientific journals, and has obtained more than 1600 citations. Matteo holds a M.Sc. in Astrophysics and a B.Sc. in Physics, both from Pisa University, Italy, Alma Mater of the scientific revolution hero Galileo Galilei. Matteo was born and raised among gentle Tuscan hills in Italy.
