Professor of Biological Sciences, Stanford University; author of Primer of Ecological Theory (Prentice Hall, 1998), Evolution's Rainbow: Diversity, Gender and Sexuality in Nature and People (University of California Press, 2004), and Evolution and Christian Faith: Reflections of an Evolutionary Biologist (Island Press, 2006).

She has authored or co-authored over 130 papers on evolution and ecology in peer-reviewed journals. Her next book is The Genial Gene: Deconstructing Darwinian Selfishness, which will appear in 2009 to coincide with Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday.
