Hello all! I'm a classically-trained molecular biologist (B.A. from UC Berkeley, M.S. from Stanford) who's currently working in biotech. My dream job, of course, is to break into science writing and to do that for a living. I strongly believe that it's the responsibility of scientists, those doing cutting-edge work, to get out there and communicate with the public. At least some of us need to anyway. Only then will people become educated about what we're all doing and how important it is.

I plan to "convert" science to something readable for intelligent lay-readers (or at least intelligent technical people who aren't familiar with the specific scientific question in each post/article). Hopefully I can contribute something to this wonderful community.
