Gene Simmons of KISS fame is all about the money - most aging rockers don't have the pretense they had when they were young ("it's not about the money, man, it's about the MUSIC") and make no secret of the fact they want to get paid.
So when Gene Simmons stated he didn't think the RIAA was aggressive enough prosecuting grandmothers if their grandkids downloaded a Justin Bieber song ("Make sure your brand is protected. Make sure there are no incursions. Be litigious. Sue everybody. Take their homes, their cars.") and Anonymous at 4Chan (all million of them) tried to rattle his chain, he wasn't impressed.
I guess he never heard of Scientology and the problems they run into with the 4Chan buzzsaw. Regardless if he did or not, 4Chan people wiped his sites off the Internet. So Gene Simmons, being famous and therefore immune to repercussions from Internet geniuses, took another shot at them.
"Our legal team and the FBI have been on the case and we have found a few, shall we say 'adventurous' young people, who feel they are above the law."
"We will sue their pants off," the bassist and businessman continued. "First, they will be punished. Second they might find their little butts in jail, right next to someone who's been there for years and is looking for a new girlfriend."
Ahhh, prison homosexual rape jokes. I bet 4Chan never saw those before. So Anonymous wiped him out again.
His sites are back up now, but his somewhat dopey statements have wisely been taken down. He's a businessman, not Don Quixote.
