Martin Robbins either has never read the Guardian's science news - or he hates his employer. In This is a news website article about a scientific paper he itemizes the cliche structure of science journalism but, since his bio lists him as "a Berkshire-based researcher and science writer" who "edits The Lay Scientist, a community blog about science, pseudoscience and evidence-based politics"(! what the hell is that?!) he is likely not a journalist and may not know that all journalism is structured in a fairly cliche way. It's taught that way because people want it that way.
Who, what, where, when and why is sooooo boring in a lead. Gosh, I hope that some blogger at the Guardian catches up to that one real soon. And we need more women in science blogging, he panders in another title. Sheesh.
In looking over his other titles, he seems to be more Scienceblogs blogger than science blogger - sell hysteria, jeering and vitriol, go light on facts. Do Guardian readers really need someone to debunk homeopathy? Are they the dumbest readers in England? Why wouldn't they just hire PZ Myers - at least he's funny.
