COP28 Was Less About Climate Change Than Dismantling Democracies

Climate change conferences are always ironic. Wealthy celebrities flying in on emissions-belching planes while claiming they bought 'carbon offsets' from companies that made Al Gore so rich he is the kind of oligarch Republicans only wish they could be is always going to create skepticism.

Having it in a mideast dictatorship that funds terrorism using wealth it derived from oil is next level.

It's more ironic this year, that's harmless enough, yet more worrisome, because climate activism has increasingly been taken over by socialist activism, and a quasi-feudal belief in agricultural mysticism.

Why were so many there claiming a normal human diet is the reason there is concern about climate change, when food is America's lowest-emitting meaningful economic sector?(1)  Maybe it is resentment. America spends less of its per capita income on food than any country in the world. We don't need activism and government when people can have food so cheaply that for the first time in the history of the world the poor can afford to be fat. Per-unit livestock emissions are also miniscule but activists were going on about cow farts. They know so little about science or agriculture they don't even know that cow burps are the methane, so they certainly don't know that methane is the least worrisome gas; it dissipates fast. Politically agnostic scientists have given up even trying to course correct them and stay focused on CO2, so junk science is everywhere.

COP28 pretended it cared about The Science but its participants overwhelmingly oppose it. They went on dreary odes about "justice" while denying actual justice to developing nations. If the world adopted American science, farmland equal to the entire country of India could go back to nature. Not land, farmland. That is how far ahead of backward regions like Europe we are.

Gen Z is suffering 'green fatigue' at unprecedented levels but Baby Boomers, who so desperately need to live in important times they declare everything a Crisis that needs a Manhattan Project Of or Moonshot about are happy to spend money if younger people look like they are on-board, but they young people they are grooming are doing some manipulation of their own; it isn't about the climate at all.

It is about making people and countries more equal by making everyone equally miserable. That's not science, it is the same politicization of science that led to progressives sticking us with eugenics.

NOTE:

(1) Plus it offsets a lot of carbon created by those electric car dealerships flying giant American flags while they lobby government to create an entitlement for themselves and prevent consumers from buying directly from manufacturers.
